Winter Ascent of Wallface
(Wallface Mountain, Adirondacks.)
This is a winter ascent of the Diagonal route of Wallface Mountain. The route is rated 5.8 with a protecting rating of "G" but it will clearly be a different story in the winter. Depending on conditions, it will range from a cold, veraglassed 5.8 to a difficult, WI4+ M4 "PG13" or "R."
The approach is approximately 4 miles, at which point we will set a basecamp.
Friday, 2/15: Meet and greet of all climbers at trip leader's house, discussion and sorting of gear and food, some inspirational videos or something.
Saturday, 2/16: EARLY start at approximately 4 AM- trailhead at approximately 8 AM, set camp by 2 PM, recon the objective.
Sunday, 2/17: Climb the route in multiple teams. Descend via rappel to basecamp.
Monday, 2/18: pack up, hike out, back home.
