Dear fellow outdoor enthusiasts,

Do you enjoy hiking, climbing, or skiing in the winter? Are you excited
by snow-filled valleys and mountain tops? Do you relish organizing and
leading groups of hikers or climbers to the White Mountains? If so, then
we want you to help lead trips during MITOC's annual Winter School during
January 2006!
All trip leaders get free gear rental from MITOC, are eligible for
discounts at some local outing stores, and get to hang out with a group
of really really cool people with similar interests!

With the safety of trip participants in mind, all official MITOC winter
trips this year will be led by people who have been approved by MITOC's
Winter Safety Committee (WSC) as winter trip leaders. To send us
your information, before next Monday (11/28) please take a few minutes to
fill out the form at:
http://mitoc.mit.edu/winter_resume.

For Winter School we need leaders for many activities at all levels, from
easy snowshoe day hikes to multi-day above-treeline adventures, including
also cross-country and backcountry skiing, and ice climbing. If you would
like to help us make this winter and Winter School our best yet, please
drop us a line before 11/28! Or, if you would like to recommend
someone who would make a fabulous leader, please let us know!

Sincerely,
The MITOC Winter Safety Committee
p.s. Winter School is held annually during MIT's January IAP term (1/9
through 2/5 this year), with lectures Tuesday/Thursday evenings on campus
and weekend trips to the White Mountains. All IOCA members are
welcome to join MITOC and participate in Winter School. More
information for participants will be sent out shortly.
