I hope everyone is enjoying their summer vacation, but I wanted to
let people know now, so people could start to plan.
The Albany-Scoharie Cave Rescue team will be sponsoring an
Orientation to Cave Rescue Class at the end of September.
Price is to be determined but I suspect will be in the $60
range. This covers food, equipment and other costs. (us instructors
don't get paid).
This is a 2 day course with classroom and field exercises on Saturday
and an in-cave practice rescue on Sunday.
It is an EXCELLENT experience for anyone thinking about becoming a
leader in the club.
This will NOT make you a caving rescue expert, but will make you a
safer caver and allow you to participate more effectively in a rescue
if you're needed.
Our area has a rescue call out about once a year.
