Subject: SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES STILL AVAILABLE!!
Hello!
With school wrapping up for the year (or perhaps even finished!) and
summer quickly approaching, we find ourselves still short a few staff
members. Many of you have been so kind to post our staffing needs to
your students via email, in your department offices and in your career
service offices. I am hoping you will do so one last time before the
summer to see if any of your students are still without summer
employment and looking for a job.
That said, we are including some preliminary information about the
Wilderness Trip Leader positions available (including attached job
description for the position and a flyer that can be posted or emailed)
for the summer of 2008. We are hopeful that you might forward this
message onto your students or club members who, could in turn, contact
us directly. It is a great chance for your students/club members to
work outside, share their love for the outdoors/outdoor activities and
have fun!!
Here goes:
Northern Minnesota Residential Summer Camp for Girls is Seeking
Wilderness Trip Leading Staff for the Summer of 2008.
Looking for experienced people who enjoy the outdoors to lead overnight
canoe/kayak/climbing/camping trips at Camp Kamaji beginning no later
than June 2, 2008 with an end date of August 13, 2008.
We have two sessions of 160 campers each. Every camper participates in
at least one overnight trip, lead by a Wilderness Trip Leader. We hire
about 6 Wilderness Trip Leaders a summer, and with help from the cabin
counselors, lead groups of 8-12 girls on overnight trips varying in
length from 2-10 days.
In addition to competitive salary including travel allowance, board and
room ~ what's in it for you??
(1) Working with children makes you feel good about yourself.
(2) Camp is a great place to find out if you would enjoy a career
working with kids.
(3) Camp provides a setting to develop skills - including leadership,
teamwork, cooperation, motivation and organization.
(4) You get to stay in shape and teach something you love to do.
(5) Camp staff form deep and long-lasting friendships with other staff
members and campers.
(6) Working in the out-of-doors, in a beautiful setting, is a great
change from school or work in the city.
(7) Camp is FUN.
For more information please contact Mike Jay by email mike at kamaji.com
OR by phone: 800/752-6254
OR visit us at www.kamaji.com. where you can link onto the Summer Jobs
page to read more and, if interested, complete and submit the on-line
staff application.
If a position as a Wilderness Trip Leader does not exactly appeal to
you, we do have other positions available to teach activities such as
canoeing/kayaking, archery, tennis, sailing, windsurfing, dance/aerobics
and photography. Please contact me at kat at kamaji.com if you would like
to learn more.
Much appreciated if you can help out! Thanks!
Kat, Kathy & Mike
