The 80-hour Wilderness First Responder (WFR) course trains participants to
effectively manage and treat backcountry medical situations ranging from a
sprained ankle or lacerated finger to hypothermia or lightning
injuries.  Being
certified as a Wilderness First Responder by SOLO, one of the leading
wilderness
medicine institutions, will allow you to be safer when you're in the
backcountry
and to be a stronger candidate for outdoor-industry employment.

Instruction and certification is provided by SOLO, and the Harvard First-Year
Outdoor Program (FOP) is hosting the course on the Harvard campus in
Cambridge,
MA. The course runs from Saturday, March 22 through Sunday, March 30, 2008.
The cost of the course is $590 ($490 for Harvard Undergraduates). A
non-refundable, $200 deposit is required to secure a spot in the course;
registration is accepted on a rolling basis until the course fills.

We hope you'll join us for what promises to be a fun and educational course!
