Northwest Youth Corps (NYC) seeks field staff. NYC is a private  
non-profit youth development organization serving over 1,000 teens  
annually via a variety of program options. All programs offer youth a  
first work experience in a challenging outdoor format emphasizing  
education and personal growth.


Field Staff:  Ten member crews live, work, and recreate in remote  
locations throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Northern  
California. Two staff manage work projects, implement daily  
environmental education sessions, create a fun atmosphere, coordinate  
camp life, participate in weekend recreation trips, transport the crew  
and learn leadership and technical work skills.  Closing Date:  Open  
until filled.  Positions available for Spring (late March), Summer and  
Fall programs. Compensation:  $73 to $85/day DOE, plus meals and  
lodging.



Leadership Development Program:  Train to be an NYC field staff in  
this 5 week development program, where participants work, live, learn,  
and recreate with ten member team.. Must be in good shape and have  
lots of initiative.  Participants earn a stipend of $1,250, plus food  
and board, and are eligible for a $1,000 AmeriCorps tuition award.  
Successful graduates may be offered paid staff positions for summer  
programs.
