Please come for climbing, hiking, rafting and skiing all in the same weekend! Individual outing clubs will be responsible for leading their own trips Saturday and Sunday, though MITOC can suggest some great things to do in the area. There will be food (burgers, hotdogs and veggie options) and contra/square dancing on Saturday night. Everyone must bring a tent, sleeping bag and clothing suitable to the weather. There's a decent chance it will snow so be prepared! The trip is now set for Friday, April 15th through Sunday the 17th. Cost will be $15/person with a $5/person late registration fee after April 8th. Registration procedure: PLEASE SIGN UP AS A GROUP. One person from each outing club should figure out how many people are coming from his/her club and sign up for everyone. This will make things much easier to organize. Please make an accurate count of how many people you will be bringing to Spring Conference. A $30 deposit PER CLUB will be required to avoid paying the late registration fee. The deposit check will be destroyed upon your group's arrival at Spring Conference. If less than 3/4 of the number of people you registered show up, then you forfeit the deposit check. Each group must provide a check for the full amount upon arrival Friday night. If and only if you are the designated organizer for your outing club, please follow this link http://mitoc.mit.edu/misc_scripts/signup_sc_05.php to the signup page. Patrick Allen of Union College and I have had a busy year keeping IOCA running smoothly. Unfortunately, as college students, we're about ready to enter the real world and need to pass on the position of Executive Secretary to the next visionary. The basic requirements of the position are mostly forwarding emails, posting trips to the website and generally helping coordinate things and answer questions about IOCA. Anyone with any freetime could handle this but we're looking for someone who wants IOCA to go places - from a website and email list to a real organization that can offer many helpful services to its member clubs. Pat, Neil Grabowsky and I got a few things started which we're pretty excited about which include heavy-hitters like Backpacker Magazine and Alpinist. If you want to make IOCA great (and claim credit on your resume) email me. And don't forget, Exec Sec and all the other positions are chosen at Spring Conference (see the trips page for info on when and where: www.ioca.org/trips/ ) so take a look at the full list of positions to see if there's something you'd be interested in! www.ioca.org/officers scroll to the bottom to see available positions -Adam Wishneusky Executive Secretary, Intercollegiate Outing Club Association http://www.ioca.org
