Fall Lake George this year went spectacularly! We were lucky enough to
have good weather all three days (it only rained right NEXT to Turtle
Island on saturday), had a great crowd, great food and everything went
smoothly.

If you missed the trip, you can check out pictures from the weekend on
the IOCA site:
http://ioca.org/gallery/album67

If you were there, I encourage you to post your pictures as well. If
you've never posted on IOCA.org before, there are easy instructions on
the main gallery page:

Other than the many trips out (hiking, cliff jumping, a triathlon,
swimming, canoeing...) and the traditional square dance, we also had a
good IOCA business meeting. I reminded everyone that MIT will be
hosting Spring Conference next year near Rumney, NH so you don't have
to wait a full year for another big IOCA camping trip like FLG. I also
announced exciting news: IOCA will soon be teaming up with Backpacker
Magazine ( http://www.backpacker.com/ ) to secure sponsorship deals
with equipment manufacturers. This will help make things like FLG more
accessible as well as allow us to make IOCA a world-class organization
again. In the near future, we will be able to offer free-gear
incentives for trip leaders, help people find transportation to trips
and events, finance training classes like the upcoming Cave Rescue
course (see the trips out page: http://www.ioca.org/trips/ ) and more!

In short, this is an exciting time for IOCA. However, what we need more
than anything is activity from our members. So who's leading a good
trip soon? Want some company? Just post your trip to the site or use
the schools list to find the contact person at a school near you.
