Directions to Add Your Photos to the IOCA Gallery:

  1. Read all the directions first, otherwise you might miss the last step on how to name your album. Use the checkboxes like the one at the begining of this line to keep track of where you are by checking them off as you go.

  2. If at anytime you have a problem or sugestion, email webmaster@ioca.org for help.

  3. If you have not previously registered for the IOCA Gallery near the top-right of the main gallery page click on [register], fill out the form and click “create.”

  4. Again, near the top-right of the main gallery page click [login] and enter the username and password that you just created. A copy of your registration should have been mailed to you if you have forgotten the details.

CAUTION: the username and password are case sensitive.

  5. Once logged in you should see “Welcome Your-name” just above the [logout] link.

  6. Select and enter the album that is most appropriate for your new sub album to be in. For instance, you might select the "Everything Else" album where images of any outing type trip can go.

  7. Once in the album click on the [new nested album] link. This will bring you into a new sub album. Only click the [new nested album] once. The frist time you click it will bring you into a new album that has no image so it might be tempting to click it again... don't.

  8. Click on [add photos]. When the add photos box comes up, use the pull down menu to select a rough number of files you are uploading (does not have to be exact). Selecting something greater than 5 will just give you a few more boxes to select files with. Then use the “browse” buttons to select individual photos.

If you know how to resize images to 1280x720 or less before you upload them, do. If you don’t know how to resize images then don’t worry about it. Don’t forget to add captions.

NOTE: it is actually faster to first zip all of the images you would like to upload first and then just upload the zip file. If all this talk about zip files means nothing to you, stick with the simple one by one file upload.
CAUTION: the box at the bottom is for advanced users only.

  9. Click "Upload Now" and then wait while your images are transferred. Sometimes it takes a while so just be patient.

  10. Once the upload is complete a button will appear at the end of the images list that has been created that says “Dismiss”. Click on it.

  11. Now all your pictures are uploaded, click on the [properties] link.

  12. Once there change the "Album Title" from "untitled" to a new title. Please use titles that are easy to understand and preferably include the event title, your orginization and your name. For example, "FLG 01, ROC, Neil Grabowsky". It is not necessary to change anything else, just scroll to the bottom and click “apply”.

Hint: If you would like to change the picture that shows up as your album picture in the list of other albums, go into your album and pull down the drop down menu under a picture and select “highlight photo.”
